Color does not attack color.
Hate and prejudice are un-natural,
because you are not BORN WITH IT;
If you hate,
you are carrying someone else’s hand-me-down
negative state of mind that you gave birth to
in your new moment of time.
Hating with someone else’s eyes
while you walk around blind.
Talking revolution is the solution.
There can be no solution in revolution,
Until evolution within begins towards your fellow man.
I warn those who hate and think negatively,
if you can’t find a victim to pass it onto,
it will work on you and the innocent children too.
For they know not what is right.
Stop these senseless lies
that destroy our children’s playful, peaceful , loving nights.
Causing them to hate and harm and disrespect
those they come in contact with.
Judging others only by the color of their skin and religion,
skipping over the beauty within.
Stop the revolution and seek the peace within.
You are not up against a man,
You’re up against a state of mind…….YOURS!
You are overlooking the problem, prejudice is like hunger,
It is only looking for an empty mind and stomach to fill.
This is my only reason why this message is flowing through.
For the children to know there lives a truthful, peaceful flow
deep within their beautiful universal souls
to help them to positively live and grow.
No one is above or below, that’s why the creator
gave us all the same color shadow.
Political activist and Holocaust survivor, Elie Wiesel once said “Most people think that shadows follow, precede or surround beings or objects. The truth is that they also surround words, ideas, desires, deeds, impulses and memories.”  It further remind us of the impact divisive rhetoric and prejudice has on the quality of life and psyche of Black America.
Prolific artist and childhood friend of Caughman, Sir Shadow pens poem to ease the barriers of hate in the hearts and minds of people everywhere .

The Ocean of Life

In the ocean of life, no one is responsible for your joy or happiness.
If you wait for someone else to make you happy, you will be sad a long, long time.

In the ocean of life, there is no right or wrong – just the weak, wise and strong.
Find out where you belong before you decide to leave home.

In the ocean of life, there is only one rule: be an individual. This is the only way you will be able to survive surrounded by fishes with human faces of all shapes and sizes.

You will know by their actions if they are sharks, shrimp, snails, or whales.
Don’t be surprised when you find that some fish lie from time to time, nor is there any reason to complain about the sharks who decide for the weak and confused what to think or do.

Know who you are as an individual. Have your own goals and rules if you don’t want to be part of the sharks’ school. You must realize it makes no sense complaining and blaming others to justify why you are swimming around with a negative attitude all because you choose to become a victim. No matter the set back, bounce back.

Find out where you belong in the ocean of life, maybe in a river, lake or pond and if necessary under a rock alongside the snails, crabs and eels to avoid becoming a shark’s next meal.

It’s a big world… use your imagination to live out your positive dreams.
Only you have the power to create the joy and peace needed in your reality.

Don’t become your own worst enemy of the sea and blame me!
